This specialty course can be conducted in 1 day on a day trip to Richelieu Rock.

Through the PADI Whale Shark course you’ll learn about:
- whale shark’s biology, distribution & behaviours
- how to safely & passively interact with them
- how you can help support whale shark research
- how to take photos & record data on whale shark sightings
- responsible dive and snorkel practices during observation
- how to submit photos & data to the Whale Shark Project

This course includes:
- 2 hour knowledge development session with PADI Instructor
- instructor guidance on 2 dives
The PADI Whale Shark Specialty raises participants’ awareness about whale sharks & what they can do to help protect this endangered species.

In particular, this involves learning how to safely observe any whale sharks spotted whilst photographing them to help identify them & monitor migration paths. Participants will then have the opportunity to submit any photos & data gathered to the ECOCEAN and Shark Trust research databases.
