About Blue Guru Diving

Blue Guru Diving is a scuba & snorkel company based on the beach at Koh Phra Thong near to Golden Buddha Beach Resort.

Our passion is for ecodiving and other sustainable tourist practices on Koh Phra Thong. We have seen so many other locations become consumed by commercialism that we are determined to assist in providing a bright future for this paradise island.

Blue Guru is especially pleased with the formative scuba diving training of local boys Tam and Thoom during the 2009-10 season. Having lived on Koh Phra Thong all their lives it was amazing to find out that they had never visited the Surin Islands before and even more amazing to watch their faces light up as they discovered the underwater landscape. We are committed to providing training for them to Divemaster level over the next season and beyond.

Research Diving and DM Internship

For 2012-2013 season, Blue Guru will be continuing local reef assessments and embarking on some restoration work in Tsunami affected areas. We continue to help Sampan with their reef monitoring work in the Surin Islands and will be initiating a shark monitoring project in the Andaman Sea with the assistance of the moken (sea gypsies) native to the area.

If you are especially interested in the broad diversity of Andaman marine life then why not join the Blue Guru Divemaster program? You will receive an exceptional standard of dive education under PADI Course Director Helen Macnee over the course of two months with accommodation provided on Koh Phra Thong. There are only four positions vacant per season. The next program starts in November 2012 and numbers are strictly limited. Join us for the experience of a lifetime.
