Blue Guru at Koh Phra Thong

Koh Phra Thong is located in the Andaman Sea off the west coast of Thailand. The closest commercial centre is the port town of Khuraburi. It is situated on the mainland about 10km east.
Phra Thong Island is the middle link in a chain of three islands. It is largely flat with expanses of inland savannah. It has long uninhabited beaches, fringed by coconut palms.
Blue Guru Diving has a delightful shop on the beach at Golden Buddha Bay. This idyllic location features a broad sweeping arc of golden sand where the water is completely sheltered from the open sea. Stunning views of the Koh Pling islands provide a striking backdrop for the setting sun.
Mountainous Koh Ra to the north
Koh Ra is to the north of Koh Phra Thong. It is long, mountainous and covered in ancient rainforest. This terrain is quite inhospitable to humans but does house a large number of animal species. This makes it an interesting trekking venue and gives a striking view looking north from Koh Pra Thong.
Up & coming Koh Kho Khao
The southern island of Koh Kho Khao has a similar geology to Koh Phra Tong. However, just to the south of Koh Kho Khao is the highly popular beach holiday location of Khao Lak. Koh Kho Khao is already a burgeoning tourist destination as Khao Lak veterans spill northwards looking for less crowded, more interesting destinations.
Closest to Phuket airport
Further south still is the world famous island of Phuket. It is a little over 100km away from Koh Phra Thong and has the closest international airport. We recommend flying into Phuket as the most efficient way to reach the island.
