Blue Guru at Koh Phra Thong
Blue Guru Diving is the only PADI dive centre in the area and the closest to world renowned Richelieu Rock. Over the last season we have been investigating rumours of new exciting dive sites along this part of the Andaman Coast. We are now proud to present Gon Pla Luang and Marion's Reef. Two brand new dive sites for the 2011/2012 season.
Gon Plua Luang/Marion's Reef
These are two open sea sites offering exciting opportunities for experienced divers. Starting at below 15m the first is a daring boulder site and the second a field of hard corals in the Andaman Sea.
What is Koh Phra Thong?
Koh Phra Thong is one of Thailand's last unspoiled coastal locations. With over 15km of largely uninhabited white sandy beaches.The island is relatively large with a total area of around 100km.
Where is Koh Phra Thong?
Koh Phra Thong is located in the Andaman Sea off the west coast of southern Thailand. The closest town is the port town of Khuraburi, situated on the mainland about 10km east. It is the middle link in a chain of 3 islands. It is about 550km south of Bangkok and 100km north of Phuket.

The scuba diving at the offshore Koh Phra Thong sites are available directly by a 40min longtail boat ride from our base at Golden Buddha Bay on Koh Phra Thong.
Diving from longtails
Longtail diving requires a little bit more skill than the luxury of diving from our dive cruiser Chandida. There is less space and we have to be more organised with our equipment.
Thankfully, we dive in small groups with no more than 4 fun divers taking part on any offshore dive trip.
Longtail Boat Drivers
Longtail boat trips to our Andaman offshore sites are skippered by Tam or Thoom. Blue Guru Diving have taken on these energetic Thai twins for 2011/12 season. However, driving longtails is only a very small part of their job as they will also continue their Divemaster training with us too!

is the most spectacular scuba diving location in Thailand. A striking open sea pinnacle for intermediate divers; it attracts manta rays, whale sharks & much more.
Koh Surin...
are actually two tropical islands. They harbour the largest divesity of hard corals in Thailand & 4 types of sea turtle. Snorkeling & diving are available on day & multi day trips.
