What is Koh Phra Thong?
Koh Phra Thong is one of Thailand's last unspoiled coastal locations. With over 15km of largely uninhabited white sandy beaches.The island is relatively large with a total area of around 100km.

Where is Koh Phra Thong?
Koh Phra Thong is located in the Andaman Sea off the west coast of southern Thailand. The closest town is the port town of Khuraburi, situated on the mainland about 10km east. It is the middle link in a chain of 3 islands. It is about 550km south of Bangkok and 100km north of Phuket.
Nature on Koh Phra Thong
This island hosts a number of important eco-systems. These include areas of mangrove forest, seagrass and coral reef. There is a good number of bird species & interesting mammals. The sea holds a wealth of biodiversity with the beaches being protected for turtle nesting.
Dive boats at Koh Phra Thong
All of the snorkeling & scuba diving spots at Koh Phra Thong are either available directly off the beach or by a short boat ride on a long tail boat or on the Blue Guru zodiac, 'Kanga'.
Longtails & Zodiacs
When we only have a few divers & snorkelers then it is easy enough to transfer to the dive sites at Koh Pling on 'Kanga'. She will whip us out there in a matter of minutes to enjoy some exclusive diving.
On days when there are more divers & snorkelers we will use one of the local longtail boats to take us to the reef.
Beach diving
Koh Phra Thong is one of the few Thai islands which has genuine scuba diving from the beach. This means that if you prefer not to dive from a boat then you don't have to. One Blue Guru's favourite dive sites - Hornbill Rocks is accessible directly from our beach side dive centre.
